Germany is called "Deutschland" in their own language, and Japanese call their own country "Nippon". Other countries have different ways of spelling foreign countries. In fact I think they were making a point, first by alluding to the old German spelling and secondly introducing the K into America is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satiric_misspelling#.E2.80.9CK.E2.80.9D_replacing_.E2.80.9CC.E2.80.9D" rel="nofollow">satirical reference to racism</a> and the KKK. Much the same way as people spell Microsoft as "Micro$oft" sometimes. I don't think they did.
